Service -> Shell and Tube Exchangers

Shell & tube heat exchangers are used in many applications ranging from oil coolers to steam condensers and food & beverage pasteurizers. These exchangers are made from a tube bundle encased in a cylindrical shell. The tubes are made from thermally conductive materials such as brass and steel, which facilitate the heat transfer from one fluid to another.

Although they are designed to be fairly robust and easy to operate, shell & tube exchangers still require service and maintenance over time due to issues such as:
– Formation of cracks or pinholes in the tubes or tubesheet
– Corrosion on sealing flanges & surfaces
– Fouling or scaling build-up
These issues can result in reduced heat transfer performance, cross-contamination between the tube-side and shell-side channels, or even leaking of fluids to the surrounding area.

At InKorr’s service workshop, we often service and repair shell and tube heat exchangers. Our technicians can help to identify any issues with your shell and tube exchanger and recommend a plan for repair where possible.
Heat Exchanger Testing:
1) Individual tube pressure testing
2) Dye penetrant testing on tubesheets
3) Gas leak detection testing
4) Hydrostatic-pressure testing
Service & Repair Options:
1) Heat exchanger cleaning & descaling
2) Tube plugging
3) Tube replacement
3) Shell flanges, headers, and nozzle repairs
4) Supply of replacement tubes and gaskets
